The UltraMarathon Cycling Association (WUCA) was founded in 1980 by John Marino, Michael Shermer, and Lon Haldeman. The WUCA is the leading international organization dedicated to ultracycling. We offer a calendar of ultracycling events where riders can compete in the World Cup of UltraCycling, the Ultra Cup of UltraCycling or accumulate mileage toward the WUCA 6-, 12- and 24-hour challenges, or try to ride fastest in the 500 mile series.

The WUCA offers the Year Rounder Mileage Challenge, which is a year-long bicycle mileage challenge that recognizes consistent performance in ultracycling throughout the season. The organization also sanctions UltraCycling Records, including national, state, timed and distance records. The WUCA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and welcomes donations and sponsorships to help fund our charitable programs.

Each year, the WUCA offers a women’s scholarship, in honor of Anne Marie McSweeney, to attend PAC-Tour Arizona Camp.

The WUCA publishes UltraCycling, a quarterly magazine.

All of the WUCA offerings are supported by a team of Volunteers and an active Board of Directors and Officers.
